Media Advisory: MADD Canada Presents Premiere Viewing of "Friday Night" in Lindsay

Multi-media assembly show begins tour of Canadian high schools

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 5, 2007) - Young Canadians and alcohol, drugs and driving - this is a mixture that is disturbing, potentially deadly - and 100% preventable. Canadian statistics for alcohol- and drug-impaired driving are alarming: One in every eight deaths and injuries in road crashes is a teenager. Tragically, road crashes are the number one cause of death of youth age 15 to 19 in Canada. Young drivers (25 years of age and under) are over-represented in road crashes due to inexperience, immaturity and the fact that two out of five teens who are killed on the road have been drinking.

Working to reverse these trends and reduce the life loss and injuries sustained by Canadian youth in impaired driving crashes, MADD Canada and General Motors of Canada is taking their anti-impaired driving message directly into high schools and presenting their case in a moving and high impact multi-media assembly show.

The 2007-2008 production Friday Night is anticipated to be seen by more than 600,000 students across Canada in the next ten months. The Canadian tour is premiering with Lindsay students and media is welcomed.
