Media Advisory: MdBio Foundation to Preview Serious Game at BIO 2012 Convention

Educational Video Game Platform Seeks to Boost U.S. Middle and High School STEM Education

ROCKVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - Jun 18, 2012) - Attendees of the 2012 BIO International Convention are invited to experience and play one of the many teaching elements from Survival!, a serious game that teaches students about biology, heredity and genetics. Survival! is the first of six educational video games planned for the groundbreaking MdBioSphere™ serious gaming platform developed by MdBio Foundation, Inc. to boost science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) curricula for middle and high school students. Announced last week, MdBio Foundation will offer MdBioSphere and games like Survival! free of charge to science teachers and students nationwide beginning in 2013.

BIO Convention attendees and media may visit MdBio Foundation's booth (#0753) to play the mini-game of Survival! June 19-20, 2012. MdBioSphere is being designed by Hunt Valley, Md.-based BreakAway, Ltd., and is the first serious game platform to be mapped to the Next Generation Science Standards being drafted by the states.
