Media Advisory: Media Availability/Canadian Labour Congress to Respond to PM's Income-Splitting Plan

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 30, 2014) - The Canadian Labour Congress' president, Hassan Yussuff, and senior economist, Angella MacEwen, are available for comment following the Prime Minister's announcement this afternoon on plans to expand income-splitting. The CLC is concerned that the plan will be unfair to the majority of working parents and taxpayers. We welcome questions about how the government could better use the federal budget surplus to benefit all Canadians.

The Canadian Labour Congress represents 3.3 million Canadian workers. The CLC brings together Canada's national and international unions along with the provincial and territorial federations of labour and 111 district labour councils.
