Media Advisory: Meet With Canadian WWII Veterans of Once-Secret Regiment


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 8, 2011) - Media are invited to meet with Veterans of the once-secret 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment (1 CACR). Formed in World War II, the "Kangaroos" will hold their final reunion in conjunction with The Elgin Regiment Association and 31 Combat Engineer Regiment (The Elgins) of the Canadian Army.

When: September 9, 2011
Time: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: St. Thomas Armoury
40 Wilson Avenue, St. Thomas, Ont.

The Veterans will be in St. Thomas to receive long-awaited public recognition with the official presentation of a historic Guidon and a parade granting them the Freedom of The City of St. Thomas on September 10, 2011.
