Media Advisory: Meeting on Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 24, 2005) - On Monday, June 27, the Honourable Anne McLellan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, and the Honourable David L. Emerson, Minister of Industry, will join their U.S. and Mexican counterparts, Secretary Michael Chertoff, Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Secretary Fernando Canales and Secretary Carlos Abascal, to discuss progress on the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America.

The Partnership was established on March 23, 2005, when Prime Minister Paul Martin met with U.S. President George W. Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

The secretaries and ministers will be available to media after their meeting on Monday to release the work plans and discuss objectives in each of the priority areas of the Partnership.
