Media Advisory: Member of Parliament Brad Trost to Announce Funding for New Memorial

BATOCHE, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - July 22, 2011) - Brad Trost, Member of Parliament for Saskatoon—Humboldt, on behalf of the Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will announce funding to build a new memorial in honour of Métis Veterans.

Location: Métis Veterans Memorial Garden, Batoche, Saskatchewan

The funding is provided by the Community War Memorial Program, through which Veterans Affairs Canada is partnering with communities across the country to build memorials to commemorate the achievements and sacrifices of those who served Canada in times of war, military conflict and peace.
