Winners Represent Canada at the "Oscars for Architecture" at Venice's Biennale Competition 2012

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 3, 2012) - Migrating Landscapes is a nation-wide competition and series of exhibitions that explores how young Canadian architects and designers have been influenced by migration. The winners will represent Canada at the prestigious 2012 Venice Biennale in Architecture in Italy.

"The intention is to bring the Venice Biennale to Canada," said Johanna Hurme, one of three young Winnipeg-based organizers and curators of Migrating Landscapes. "We want to showcase the up-and-coming generation of Canadian architects and designers to the Canadian public before they hit the world stage in Venice."

Ontario Regional winners and the People's Choice Award winner will be announced at an exclusive VIP/Sponsor Party on February 22 (by invitation only). The Ontario Regional Exhibition of Migrating Landscapes runs from February 6 to February 24, 2012 at the Allen Lambert Galleria in Brookfield Place.

What: Media Preview of the Ontario Regional Exhibition of Migrating Landscapes, featuring 26 personal videos and scale models of dwellings by young Ontario architects and designers, as well as a wooden exhibition infrastructure that represents a landscape.
