Media Advisory: Minister of National Defence Presents the Queen's Medal to Top Marksmen

KINGSTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 15, 2010) - All news media from the National Capital Region are invited to the awarding of Her Majesty's Queen's Medal for Champion Shot by the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, to the top rifle marksmen of the Regular Force and Reserve Force or RCMP. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 18, at approximately 15:45, at the conclusion of the Canadian Forces Small Arms Competition, at the Connaught Ranges and Primary Training Centre (CRPTC) in Nepean.

This unique photo opportunity, will take place rain or shine. 

Directions to CRPTC: Take Highway 417 to the Moodie exit in Nepean. Follow Moodie Drive north to Carling Ave., then turn left heading west on Carling Ave. to Rifle Rd. The Ranges are clearly marked with a large DND sign and a smaller RCMP sign. Turn right and follow the road for 2 km and then turn left at the NCR sign of Shirley's Bay Park. Proceed through the gate. All news media must report to Range Control upon arrival.
