Media Advisory: Minister of Natural Resources and Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Announce Investments Supporting Northern Strategy

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 13, 2008) -



The Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, and the Honourable
Chuck Strahl, Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs and Federal
Interlocutor for Metis and Non-Status Indians, will hold a news conference
to make an important announcement regarding the Government of Canada's
Northern Strategy.

The news conference will be held in conjunction with a day of activities at
the museum to mark the 50th anniversary of the Polar Continental Shelf
Project (PCSP), which has been facilitating the work of Canadian and
international researchers in Canada's Arctic since 1958. Members of the
media are invited to attend a day-long science workshop, beginning at 9:15
a.m., and a reception at 5 p.m.
