Media Advisory: Minister of Veterans Affairs' Events in Ontario

BURLINGTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 8, 2009) - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will participate in several events honouring Canada's Veterans in Burlington, Ontario, on May 10 and 11, 2009.

Minister Thompson will attend The Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command Biennial Convention on May 10 and 11. He will attend the convention parade and participate in the wreath-laying ceremony and the official opening ceremony on May 10. On May 11, Minister Thompson will present the 2009 Minister of Veterans Affairs Commendation to ten citizens of Ontario. The Commendation is presented to individuals who have contributed to the care and well-being of Veterans and to the remembrance of their contributions, sacrifices and achievements.
