Media Advisory: Minister Steven Blaney to Address Guests at Portraits of Honour Tour Stop

CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND--(Marketwire - Oct. 28, 2011) - The Honourable Steven Blaney, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will attend the Charlottetown stop of Kin Canada's Portraits of Honour Tour at Veterans Affairs Canada's Head Office. The Seventh Book of Remembrance, which contains the names of Canadian Forces members who have lost their lives since October 1947, will also be on display. The Minister will address invited guests and the media.

The Portraits of Honour Tour, a joint initiative of artist Dave Sopha, Kin Canada and the Kin Canada Foundation, with funding by Veterans Affairs Canada, is a cross-country tour of a hand-painted mural (measuring 40-feet in length) featuring portraitures of all Canadian Forces members who have lost their lives in Afghanistan.
