Media Advisory: Minister Thompson to Commemorate the 89th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 6, 2006) - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veterans Affairs, together with a representative of the Embassy of France, will commemorate the Battle of Vimy Ridge on Friday, April 7, 2006 in Ottawa by participating in a wreath-laying ceremony at the National War Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Veterans from the Second World War, the Korean War and peacekeeping missions will also be in attendance. Members of the public and the media are invited to attend the wreath-laying ceremony, which begins at 10 a.m.
