Media Advisory: MP Gallant to Participate in the Opening of the Operational Trauma and Stress Support Centre at CFB Petawawa

CFB PETAWAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 24, 2011) - Media are invited to attend the official opening of the new Operational Trauma and Stress Support Centre (OTSSC) at CFB Petawawa. This centre, as well the one to be announced in Gagetown, joins already established OTSSCs in Ottawa, Halifax, Valcartier, Edmonton, and Esquimalt in providing full-service assessment and treatment for CF members suffering from operational stress injuries.

Cheryl Gallant, the Member of Parliament for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke, on behalf of the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, will participate in the opening and will also take this opportunity to congratulate the CFB Petawawa Medical Clinic on being granted Accredited status by Accreditation Canada. This Accreditation reaffirms that CF Health Services personnel are highly trained medical professionals committed to observing best practice and evidence-based interdisciplinary care.
