Media Advisory: National Defence


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 27, 2014) - Media are invited to join soldiers from 31 Canadian Brigade Group on February 1, 2014 at CFB Borden, where they're training for an upcoming deployment to the North.

Exercise FRIGID FORESTER II will involve more than 200 members of 4th Canadian Division, comprised of the Arctic Company Response Group and Domestic Response Company. They will be honing their skills in winter warfare, cold weather survival and the use of Arctic equipment, including Light Over Snow Vehicles (military snowmobiles). The exercise is in preparation for Ex TRILLIUM RESPONSE 2014, which will see more than 300 soldiers deploy to Nunavut on February 15.

There are limited opportunities for interested reporters to embed with the troops during this training exercise.

When: February 1, 2014, 2:00 p.m.

Where: CFB Borden, Ontario

What: Canadian soldiers train in winter warfare and survival, preparing for deployment to the Arctic.
