CFB TRENTON, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 3, 2005) - The flight for soldiers returning from Afghanistan will not be arriving in Trenton at 8:30 pm tonight. The flight will be delayed until further notice.

Presently in theatre, minor runway repairs are being conducted and flights are expected to resume this weekend. Families of the deployed soldiers will be advised of the new Afghanistan flight departures and arrivals as soon as the information becomes available.

This marks the completion of the fourth set of six-month tours (or two years) that Canada has participated in Operation Athena under the auspices of Task Force Kabul. The members of this Rotation, called 'Rotation 3' will return to Canada over a one-month period and will be replaced by 'Rotation 4' soldiers, flight by flight.
