Media Advisory: National President Joins Striking Local 3372 on the Picket Line

FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - Feb. 18, 2009) - CUPE National President, Paul Moist, will walk the picket line alongside the Hugh John Flemming Forestry Centre (HJFFC) cafeteria workers in Fredericton on Thursday February 19th at noon in front of the Centre.

The six cafeteria workers have been on strike since February 4, after talks between CUPE Local 3372 and ARAMARK reached an impasse. The workers have been without a collective agreement for more than a year, largely due to ARAMARK's refusal to negotiate an acceptable wage increase.

The strikers will serve lunch to the users of the HJFFC who have been supporting them since the beginning of this work action.
