Ottawa Senators owner to host local children at Scotiabank Place

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 18, 2013) - For the ninth consecutive season, Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk will host local children at Scotiabank Place as part of the Eugene Melnyk Skate for Kids. This year's event will take place on Friday, April 19, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Melnyk, along with CTV Ottawa ambassador Max Keeping, Spartacat and members of the Ottawa Senators staff, will present each participant with a Senators jersey, a helmet and a brand new pair of skates - all donated by the Senators owner.

Who: Eugene Melnyk, owner, Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and Scotiabank Place; Specially selected local children; Senators staff and Spartacat, Ottawa Senators mascot and ambassador of fun.

When: Friday, April 19, from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Scotiabank Place, please use Gate 3 for building access.

Media opportunity:

1 p.m.: Eugene Melnyk and Max Keeping will welcome the children at lower Gate 2.

1:30 p.m.: Skate begins. During the skate, Melnyk will be available for additional photos and interviews with media representatives.

2:10 p.m.: Group photo.
