Media Advisory: OCBC's 2013 Sold-Out Annual Dinner Features PIMCO's CEO Dr. Mohamed El-Erian

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - Jan 28, 2013) -

WHAT: Orange County Business Council presents the 2013 Annual Dinner featuring keynote speaker Dr. Mohamed El-Erian, CEO and co-CIO of PIMCO, on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine, sponsored by Brandman University. As one of the world's leading economic and financial experts, Dr. El-Erian will tackle the topics of leadership, strategic challenges and opportunities for navigating the new economy, while highlighting the PIMCO way to succeed in business. Dr. El-Erian is a key advisor to President Obama's economic team as Chair of the president's Global Development Council.

The Annual Dinner will also install OCBC's 2013 Board of Directors led by Michael Hornak, Senior Partner, Rutan & Tucker; and recognize outgoing 2012 Chair Julie Miller-Phipps, Senior Vice President and Executive Director, Kaiser Permanente Orange County, for her exceptional leadership and accomplishments of the past year. In addition, OCBC will pay tribute to former Orange County Supervisor Bill Campbell for his many years of dedication, commitment and contributions to Orange County.

The recession has changed the face of business, with each day bringing new challenges to businesses trying to compete globally and rebuild in uncertain economic times. OCBC's theme for 2013, Breaking Free, is a call to action to meet these challenges, turn obstacles into opportunities, and find new ways for business and the public sector to collaborate and break through old barriers. PIMCO, the Newport Beach-based global investment management firm with $1.9 trillion of assets under management, is a great example of the innovative, forward-thinking mentality that has a proven track record for success, even during hard economic times. While the path to growth remains at times uncertain, Orange County's businesses are primed to break away from the pack and continue as leaders for the region, state, and nation.
