FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK--(Marketwire - March 1, 2013) - The Commissioner of Official Languages of Canada, Graham Fraser, and the Commissioner of Official Languages for New Brunswick, Michel Carrier, are pleased to invite you to the 20th anniversary of the entrenchment of section 16.1 in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This section recognizes the equality of status of both official linguistic communities in New Brunswick along with their right to distinct educational and cultural institutions.

The Commissioners will take advantage of this special occasion to sign a Memorandum of Understanding which will increase cooperation between their offices in many respects.
