TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2012) - On Monday, September 17, Ontario's labour movement will be joining Canada's Occupy movement on Parliament Hill to demand a stop to Prime Minister Harper's cuts to jobs and services. Planned for the date that Parliament resumes after the summer recess and the one year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street, the rally will include a convergence of occupiers who have been marching to Ottawa since May Day from all across the country.

OFL President Sid Ryan will be joining the Occupy Rally in Ottawa, along with other workers, to show support for the Occupy Movement. Ryan will be available for comment.

"Harper's attacks on the basic rights of workers and the civil liberties of those who oppose his destructive policies is evidence that his government is obsessed with silencing its critics," said OFL President Sid Ryan. "Harper has no mandate for undermining the very foundation of our democracy in Canada and Canadians are demanding that people come before corporate profits."
