Media Advisory: Ontario's Chartered Accountants Launch "CA Advantage" Radio Ads

Provincial ads top up national sports-themed campaign on CA leadership, teamwork

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 23, 2006) -

Attention: News/Business Editors

New sports-themed radio spots are airing as part of the Chartered Accounting profession's CA Advantage campaign targeted at broadening the already highly positive perception of Chartered Accountants. Launching October 23, the ads highlight the CA Advantage defined by the real benefits provided by CAs working in business and other organizations across Canada - business insight, strategic thinking, leadership and superior financial expertise.

"These radio ads are designed to augment the national "CA Advantage" brand advertising campaign consisting of magazine, TV, airport and elevator screen placements nationwide," said Peter Varley, Vice-President of Public Affairs at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. "Each of the radio ads profiles an actual CA leader from the world of sports, consistent with the national campaign's message that you need a CA on your team."

The radio campaign showcases the skills, ability and determination that make the highlighted Chartered Accountants leaders in both the worlds of sports and business.

The featured CAs include:

- Erin Crowe, CFO of the highly successful, small market Ottawa Senators' NHL franchise.

- Steve Johnston, with 49 holes in one, Canada's "King of Aces" and the creator of Global Golf Advisors.

- Stefanie Lawton, a curling skip with ambitions to compete in the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver.

- Bob Nicholson, who has worked for the Toronto Blue Jays and Argonauts before joining Wizard Sports Group.

- Bob Plamondon, an Ironman triathlon competitor, government consultant and best-selling author in his spare time.

Running on select radio stations across Ontario, the ads will air from October 23 to the first week of December, then resume from January to March in 2007.

Developed by leading ad agency Ogilvy & Mather, the radio campaign and the ads can be found on line at:
