Media Advisory: Ontario's Environmental Commissioner to Discuss Newly Released Energy Conservation Report


TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 31, 2016) - The Ontario Energy Association (OEA) is set to host its third Speaker Series event of 2016, Conservation: Let's Get Serious; featuring the first opportunity to hear directly from Ontario's new Environmental Commissioner, Dr. Dianne Saxe, as she discusses her debut Energy Conservation Report released on May 31, 2016.

The Environmental Commissioner acts as an environmental watchdog tasked with providing the Ontario Legislature with a neutral evaluation of Ontario's status and progress in making better use of energy from electricity, natural gas, oil, propane and transportation fuels. The Commissioner's report provides a comprehensive public summary of energy conservation and efficiency. Commissioner Saxe will assess the quantitative savings achieved by Ontario's conservation programs, evaluate progress against government targets, review major policy initiatives and identify barriers to better results.
