Media Advisory/OPERATION REASSURANCE: Another Return from Europe for Valcartier troops

VALCARTIER, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Feb. 22, 2016) - Media representatives are invited to be present at the homecoming of the second and last group of military members from Valcartier tomorrow following their participation in the fourth rotation of Operation REASSURANCE in Central and Eastern Europe.

When: Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 10:00 p.m. (arrival of aircraft/welcome of media)
Where: Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport terminal for international flights
What: Welcome for military members in the presence of family and friends

The soldiers, who are returning to the country following a deployment of more than seven months, come mainly from 3rd Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment, led by 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group based at Valcartier. Operation REASSURANCE refers to the activities undertaken by the Canadian Armed Forces in support of NATO assurance measures, including military capabilities for training, exercises, demonstrations and assigned NATO tasks.
