Media Advisory-OPSECAAT: Part-Time College Workers Leader Available to Media in Thunder Bay Wednesday

THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 4, 2007) - Roger Couvrette, president of the Organization of Part-time and Sessional Employees of the Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (OPSECAAT) will be in Thunder Bay Wednesday June 6. Couvrette will be in Thunder Bay as part of a province-wide tour.

Ontario's 24 colleges employ 17,000 part-time support staff and faculty. These workers have been denied the right to join a union and bargain collectively by the Ontario government. The ban continues, despite a 2006 ruling by the International Labour Organization that these workers should be allowed to organize.

OPSECAAT is an association created to represent the 17,000 part-time college workers and lobby for changes to legislation.

Mr. Couvrette will be available to the media at a news conference.

Date: Wednesday June 6, 2007
Time: 1:30 p.m
Location: OPSEU offices 1201 Amber Drive, Thunder Bay

Phone interviews with Mr. Couvrette are also available by request.
