Media Advisory: Ottawa Senators and Canadian Blood Services Welcome Blood Donor Clinic to Scotiabank Place

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 17, 2010) - Be Red, Give Red! Ottawa's Biggest Blood Donor Clinic presented by the Ottawa Senators and Canadian Blood Services will take place tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 18 on the arena floor at Scotiabank Place.

For a second consecutive season, the Senators are encouraging fans to roll up their sleeves in a community-wide effort to reach a goal of 400 units of blood and 200 new OneMatch Stem Cell registrants on Monday.

Who: Cyril Leeder, president, Ottawa Senators. Leeder is scheduled to donate blood at 11:10 a.m. and will available on the arena floor until 12:15 p.m.

Rob Marshall, Canadian Blood Services employee and a 200-time blood donor until he needed 50 units of blood to survive necrotising fasciitis (flesh-eating disease)

When: Monday, Oct. 18 beginning at 11 a.m.

Where: Scotiabank Place, Ottawa; Media are asked to use the Gate 3 entrance. Parking will be available in Lot 4.

Photo opportunity: Media will have an opportunity to capture images of Leeder and York at the clinic. Along with the Canadian Blood Services employees, Leeder and York will also be available for interviews.
