Media Advisory: Ottawa Senators Foundation to kick off WSP Sens Alumni & NHL Celebrity Cup hockey tournament tonight

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 27, 2014) - The Ottawa Senators Foundation (@sensfoundation), will kick off the inaugural WSP Sens Alumni & NHL Celebrity Cup with a draft party at the Brookstreet Hotel this evening at 6 p.m.

The event will feature more than 14 former NHL players, including hall-of-famer Ray Bourque, Theo Fleury, Denis Savard, Brad Marsh and Ron Duguay. Each team captain will select a former National Hockey League star to join their team. Draft positions will be determined by the total fundraising dollars raised by each team. Teams will then hit the ice on Friday, March 28, at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata. At the end of tournament play the top individual fundraisers will form an All Star team where they will ultimately compete against the NHL alumni.

Funds raised at this inaugural event will support the ongoing work of the Ottawa Senators Foundation of promoting and making accessible child and youth activities that enable both physical and mental wellness through social recreation and education programs. The Foundation's enduring aim is to make a difference in the daily life of all children and youth in the National Capital Region.
