Eugene Melnyk to host news conference on Sunday pending ratification of CBA

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 11, 2013) - The Ottawa Senators will continue to prepare for the upcoming National Hockey League season at Scotiabank Place over the weekend of Saturday, Jan. 12, and Sunday, Jan. 13. While the agenda below is subject to ratification of the collective bargaining agreement, please note the current schedule for the weekend.

On Saturday, Jan. 12, players will partake in voluntary medical testing starting at 8:30 a.m. Doors to the Gate 3 media entrance will open at 8:30 a.m.

On Sunday, Jan. 13, the Senators will host a news conference (full details below) followed by the team's first on-ice pratice at 1 p.m. (subject to ratification of the CBA).

The on-ice skate will be open to fans, with access to Scotiabank Place being the Gate 1 entrance. The open practice is presented by Scotiabank and doors will open at 12:30 p.m.

At 11 a.m. on Sunday, Senators owner Eugene Melnyk will host a new conference to launch the 2012-13 NHL season in Ottawa. The new conference, which will include many details fans can expect as part of the upcoming season, will be also be subject to ratification of the CBA.

Joining Melnyk at Sunday's news conference will be Senators head coach Paul MacLean, team captain Daniel Alfredsson and president Cyril Leeder. Senators players and several other team executives will also be present.
