Media Advisory: Parents from across the province to descend on Queen's Park Monday to fight back against the epidemic of closing community schools

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 18, 2016) - The Ontario Alliance Against School Closures, a province-wide citizens' group, organized to call for a moratorium on school closures and to demand a rewriting of the Pupil Accommodation Review Guideline, are taking their fight to Queen's Park.

When - Monday, November 21, 2016 at 9:30 a.m.

Where - OAASC will be hold a media conference in the media studio at Queen's Park led by OAASC spokesperson Susan MacKenzie and Doug Reycraft, chair of Community Schools Alliance, introduced by NDP education critic Lisa Gretzky.

RALLY TO FOLLOW

Groups from across Ontario will gather at a rally in support of their demands in front of the Queen's Park Legislature from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Speakers will include CUPE Ontario president Fred Hahn, OPSEU president Smokey Thomas, opposition MPPs, and speakers representing parents, students and concerned groups across Ontario. All people interested in attending the rally are welcome.
