CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND--(Marketwire - Dec. 6, 2011) - The Canadian Union of Public Employees and the Council of Canadians are holding a town hall meeting on Thursday, December 8 in Charlottetown to raise awareness about a new trade deal that threatens vital public services like water, transit, energy and health care. Canada and the European Union are negotiating a new Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) which they hope to sign early in 2012. CUPE and the Council of Canadians oppose the deal because of the impact it will have on public services and the environment.
