MEDIA ADVISORY: Performers to Urge CRTC to Not Give Big Corporations Internet Control

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 7, 2009) - ACTRA's National President Ferne Downey and National Executive Executive Director Stephen Waddell will present ACTRA's case at the CRTC's hearings on Internet traffic management hearings on July 8.

Performers are urging the CRTC to enshrine the principle of 'net neutrality', ensuring that big business is not given permission to control Canadians' Internet access. Net neutrality is a particular concern to performers because their work is being increasingly distributed on the Internet.
