Media Advisory/Photo Op: Awards Ceremony, Best-in-Fair Presentations, Canada-Wide Science Fair, Ottawa

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 16, 2008) - After two days of intense judging, the awards for the best projects at the Canada-Wide Science will be presented Friday, May 16. More than 450 students from all provinces and territories in Canada have participated in this national event, the first time in Ottawa in 46 years.

Close to $1 million in scholarships, grants and cash prizes will be awarded at the afternoon ceremony. The awards culminate with the EnCana Grand Awards: three top projects, one for each of the Junior, Intermediate and Senior categories., out of which is selected the "Best-in-Fair" overall.



WHERE: Ottawa Congress Centre

WHEN: Friday, May 16, 2008. Ceremony from 2:30 p.m. to
4:30 p.m. At 4:30 p.m. the three Best-in-Fair projects
and the students who won will be available for
interviews and photo ops until 5:30 p.m.


NOTE TO MEDIA: The public are invited to visit all the students and their projects at the public viewing on Saturday, May 17, 9 .a.m. to noon, Montpetit Hall, University of Ottawa.
