Media Advisory/Photo Op: Expanding the Partnership Between the Assembly of First Nations and Elections Canada

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 5, 2006) - The National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Phil Fontaine, and the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada, Jean-Pierre Kingsley, invite media to a signing ceremony where they will sign a memorandum of understanding that aims to strengthen the ongoing co-operation between the two organizations.

The memorandum of understanding outlines the intention to develop and launch a number of new outreach initiatives aimed at increasing awareness of the electoral rights of First Nations electors.
