Collaborating on the Corporate Playground: Team Building from Start to Finish

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 15, 2008) - Five students from Seneca College's Corporate Communications Program are putting practical experience to use when they host a seminar this afternoon for their event planning class. Professor Jeff Roach gave the students a list of topics, no budget and the challenge to plan the event from start to finish.

LOCATION: Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen Street W., Toronto

DATE: Tuesday, July 15

TIME: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A cocktail reception will follow in the hotel lounge.

Victoria Procunier, Lee Oliver and Royal Poulin from the corporate communications field will speak to student participants on team dynamics in the work place. The topics include the challenges of joining an established team, managing a team and dealing with team conflicts. The goal is to better prepare participants for a career in corporate communications-a field dominated by teamwork.

The hands-on experience is a part of the program's teaching philosophy to learn by doing. Team dynamics will be on display when the soon to be graduating class performs the human knot.
