EVENT:VOICES, a cross-city speech contest
DATE:Tuesday, May 3, 2011
TIME:10am – Noon EDT
LOCATION:St. Lawrence Hall (The Great Hall), 157 King Street East, 3rd Floor

EVENT BACKGROUND: Young people are keen to express their opinions, fears, hopes and dreams but often lack the knowledge of how to express themselves with clarity and confidence or the outlets to make it happen. When given the opportunity, students can be taught to conduct themselves with intelligence and self-assurance, in a manner which can elicit laughter, tears and admiration from those who listen. This event is about listening to the voices of college students who are hungry to be heard.
