Media Advisory: Pratt & Whitney Canada Celebrates PurePower(R) PW800 Engine Selection by Gulfstream with Significant Presence at NBAA 2014

ORLANDO, FLORIDA--(Marketwired - Oct. 17, 2014) - Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) is ready to mark the selection of its next-generation PurePower PW800 engines by Gulfstream in a series of events at the upcoming National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) annual convention and tradeshow. The convention will take place in Orlando, Florida, from October 21-23. P&WC is a United Technologies Corporation company (NYSE:UTX).

NBAA 2014 activities will follow less than a week after P&WC announced that its PurePower PW800 engines are the power behind the new Gulfstream G500 and G600 business jets. A 16,000-pound-thrust-class powerhouse, the PurePower PW800 engine is optimized for high-flying, fast, long-range business jets and shares the same proven, rigorously tested core technology used in Pratt & Whitney's award-winning PurePower family of geared turbofan commercial engines.

To highlight this exciting news and more, P&WC will host the following events at this year's show.

• On the pre-show "media day", members of P&WC's leadership team will hold a press conference to provide PurePower PW800 engine and business updates.
  • Press Room N220B: Monday, October 20, 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

• During the show, P&WC will host a PurePower PW800 Engine-Unveiling Event at P&WC Booth (#3240) with President John Saabas as well as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Maria Della Posta.
  • Speech by John Saabas and engine unveiling (media photo opportunity): Monday, 10:30 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.
  • Media Q&As and interviews: 10:45 a.m. - 11 a.m.

• Throughout the course of the show, the P&WC Booth (#3240) will be staffed by engine and aftermarket experts to answer questions from customers and NBAA participants. On display will be the next-generation PurePower PW800 engine (following unveiling), the PW600 engine, the PW500 engine, the PW300 engine and PT6A engine.

• P&WC will hold two Maintenance and Operations (M&O) seminars to provide customers, operators and mechanics with the latest insights on support initiatives, maintenance and more. These seminars will be held on October 22 at the Orange County Convention Center, South Concourse Mezzanine, 3^rd Floor, Room S330G.
  • JT15D, PW300, PW500 and PW600 engines: Wednesday, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
  • PT6A engine: Wednesday, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
