Media Advisory/Pratt & Whitney Canada Showcases Innovation at Open House: 25,000 Visitors are Expected!

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 11, 2005) - Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), the No. 1 R&D investor in Canada's aerospace sector, will showcase state-of-the-art technologies during the company's Open House on October 15 and 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is expected to attract 25,000 visitors.

Journalists are cordially invited to attend the launch of the event, to be followed by a special tour of P&WC's Engine Centre and Manufacturing areas, in the company of P&WC President Alain M. Bellemare.

Exceptionally, on this occasion media will be authorized to take photographs and video images inside the plant. The first event of its kind in five years, the 2005 P&WC Open House will give journalists a unique opportunity to visit the interior of P&WC's plant.

P&WC's Plant 5, located in St-Hubert (7007 chemin de la Savane), will also be open to the media for the duration of the weekend. Some ten aircraft that employ P&WC's technology will be on display.

P&WC invests $2 million per working day to discover and develop power solutions that meet the needs of its customers. In the past 10 years, this commitment to innovation has enabled the company to introduce 45 new engines and more than 20 new engines are currently in development.
