Media Advisory: Presentation of Canadian Forces Sacrifice Medals

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 8, 2010) - Commodore Daniel MacKeigan, Commander, Canadian Forces Recruiting Group (CFRG), will present Canadian Forces Sacrifice Medals to Corporal Bradley Osmond and Corporal Matthew Dicks.

Location: Foyer, 4900 Yonge Street, North York (Yonge and Sheppard)

Corporal Bradley Osmond, currently serving with Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre Toronto and Corporal Matthew Dicks, currently serving with Range Control in Canadian Forces Base Borden, will be receiving the Canadian Forces Sacrifice Medal for events that occurred on April 11, 2007. In separate but related events, Cpl Osmond's Coyote struck an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) while en route to replace Canadian Forces personnel at an observation post. Cpl Dicks' Coyote that was sent out from the observation post to help secure Cpl Osmond's location was struck by a second IED. Cpl Dicks and Cpl Osmond both received severe injuries from the respective attacks.
