Media Advisory: Presentation of Credentials at the Citadelle in Quebec City

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 11, 2007) - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will receive the credentials of three new ambassadors to Canada, as well as those of one new high commissioner, on Friday, September 14, at 10:00 a.m., at the Citadelle of Quebec.

Upon their arrival in Canada and before they can carry out their duties as heads of mission, new ambassadors and high commissioners must be officially welcomed by the governor general of Canada. Credentials are the official documents by which new heads of diplomatic missions are presented by their head of State to Canada's governor general.

- Her Excellency Emilia Maria Alvarez Navarro, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Costa Rica

- His Excellency Brendon Browne, High Commissioner-designate for the Commonwealth of Dominica (Member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States)

- Her Excellency Edda Mukabagwiza, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Rwanda

- His Excellency Nikolaos Matsis, Ambassador-designate of the Hellenic Republic

The presentations are open to the media.
