MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 7, 2016) - Striking Mississauga Library System (MLS) workers, members of Local 1989 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE 1989), will have some high-profile support on their picket lines today.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., CUPE Ontario Secretary-Treasurer Candace Rennick will join striking CUPE 1989 members and their supporters for a solidarity barbecue at the main picket site, located at Celebration Square, located at 301 Burnhamthorpe Road West.
Later that day, at 3:30 p.m., Charles Fleury, CUPE's National Secretary-Treasurer will join the picket line to show his support and bring solidarity greetings on behalf of CUPE National.
