Media Advisory: Public Safety Minister in British Columbia on Thursday

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 14, 2007) - The Honourable Stockwell Day, Minister of Public Safety, along with the Honourable Wally Oppal, British Columbia Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism, on behalf of the Honourable John Les, Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, will make an important funding announcement related to crime prevention.

The ministers will speak and a brief question period will follow. Members of the media are invited to attend.

Minister Day and Randy Hawes, Member for the Legislative Assembly, Maple Ridge-Mission, will then tour the Fraser River floodplains.

The Minister will be available for a media scrum and photo-op after the tour.
