Media Advisory: Rally at MPs Peter MacKay's Office Against Canada-Colombia Trade Talks

NEW GLASGOW, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Nov. 28, 2007) - Union members and community activists will rally in front of the local constituency office of the Honourable Peter MacKay, Member of Parliament for Cental Nova at noon this Friday to demand an immediate stop to trade talks with the Colombian government.

MacKay's office is located at 980 East River Road in New Glasgow.

Colombia is the country where more union members and leaders are killed than in the rest of the world combined. Labour activists and leaders are hunted down and murdered because unions are considered to be subversive and organized workers make demands for better working conditions. During the administration of the current President, 560 union officers and members have been brutally and systematically murdered.
