Media Advisory: Release of Flight Safety Investigation Report for Crash of Tutor CT114120 on August 24, 2005

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - April 23, 2007) - The final Flight Safety Investigation Report (FSIR) for the crash of Tutor aircraft CT114120 has been completed and will be posted on the Air Force Directorate of Flight Safety website on April 23, 2007.

While preparing for a Snowbirds performance at an air show on August 24, 2005, Tutor CT114120 experienced a loss of engine thrust and subsequently crashed into a field near Thunder Bay, Ontario. The pilot successfully ejected from the aircraft and received only minor injuries. The aircraft was destroyed as a result of the impact and post-crash fire.
