Media Advisory: Remaining Members of Operation UNIFIER Contingent Returning From Ukraine


VALCARTIER, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug. 8, 2016) - Media representative are invited to attend the homecoming of a second, final group of approximately 100 soldiers this Wednesday as they return from the first rotation of Operation (Op) UNIFIER.

When: Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at 7:30 pm (scheduled time of aircraft arrival)
Where: International Flights Terminal at Jean Lesage International Airport in Quebec City
What: Access to the outgoing commander of Joint Task Force - Ukraine, Lieutenant-Colonel Tim Arsenault, and the members of his command team

Most of the soldiers are from the Quebec City area and have spent almost seven months helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces develop knowledge and skills, with a specific focus on small-team training, combat first aid and explosive ordnance disposal. The first large group of soldiers returned home on August 5, 2016, and this second important flight marks the return of the rest of the contingent, which saw approximately 200 soldiers participating in the first rotation of Op UNIFIER.
