Media Advisory: REMEMBRANCE DAY-Quebec City's Military Community to Recollect Sacrifices Made


VALCARTIER, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Nov. 10, 2016) - About 250 soldiers from 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group and from naval and land reserve units within Québec City region will take part in the annual Remembrance Day Parade on November 11 in Québec City.

When: Friday, November 11, 2016, at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Downtown Québec City, intersection of Grande Allée St. East and George-VI Avenue at the Croix du Sacrifice cenotaph, located near St. Louis Gate

Major Félix St-Jean, from 1 Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment, will command troops on parade. Several public figures will take turns in order to lay wreaths in memory of the fallen soldiers who paid the price of their lives for their nation.

Represented Units and Formations during this parade are to include:

  • Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 265 (Québec)
  • Veterans Association
  • 1 Battalion, Royal 22e Régiment (100 members guard)
  • Naval Reserve (30 members guard)
  • 35 Canadian Brigade Group
  • 5e Régiment d'artillerie légère du Canada
  • Royal 22e Régiment Band
  • Royal Canadian Mounted Police
  • Service de police de la Ville de Québec (ceremonial unit)
  • 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron
  • 5 Military Police Platoon
