Media Advisory/REMINDER/Biodiesel Lecture : Buses Are Turning to Green

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 17, 2008) - SAE Montreal in collaboration with The Montreal Job and Training Fair will present next Tuesday the 18th the Biodiesel lecture : buses are turning to green.

Biofuels (ethanol and biodiesel) have wind in their sails. They are indeed generating more and more interest because they meet the targets for reducing greenhouse gases (GHGs), protecting the environment, sustainingdurable development and offering energy assurance as promoted by Quebec government. Several players like municipalities and transit companies, farmers and even private individuals are interested in this new fuel and wish to convert their vehicles.

In 2002, STM decided to take action. Indeed, the STM has tested for one year the use of biodiesel in a portion of its fleet. This test has been successful since STM is now considering extending this technology to its entire fleet by introducing into its buses, different modifications related to biodiesel.
