Media Advisory/REMINDER-Canadian Museum of Nature reveals new galleries in renovated West Wing!

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 13, 2006) -


What: After close to two years in hiding, the dinosaurs are back
at the Canadian Museum of Nature...and they've brought some
interesting friends: prehistoric sea monsters, walking
whales, ancient mammals and modern-day wildlife (even
Einstein is part of the cast!). Join us for a briefing and
exclusive sneak preview of the new exhibitions in the
renovated West Wing of the historic Victoria Memorial
Museum Building, Canada's first national museum building.

Don't miss this opportunity to get interviews and photos
before the October 20 public reopening!

New permanent exhibitions include the Talisman Energy
Fossil Gallery and Mammal Gallery. Einstein, an
internationally travelling exhibition in Canada for the
first time, will be at the Museum until January 14, 2007.

When: Monday, October 16, 2006, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.
(Speeches/briefing at 10:00 a.m. followed by tours at 10:30
a.m.).

Where: Canadian Museum of Nature, 240 McLeod Street, Ottawa

Why: The Canadian Museum of Nature is halfway through its
renovations, which began in 2004 and will continue until
2009-10. This year marks the Museum's 150th anniversary,
dating to 1856 when Parliament granted funding to the
Geological Survey of Canada to publicly display its growing
natural science collections.
