Media Advisory/REMINDER/Canadian Space Agency: RADARSAT-2 - Countdown to Launch

LONGUEUIL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2007) - Radarsat-2, Canada's highly advanced next-generation Earth Observation satellite will be launched on December 14th from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

The Canadian Space Agency, with the participation of its prime contractor MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates (MDA), will be hosting a launch event at the Agency's John H. Chapman Space Centre in Longueuil.

Colin Carrie, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry, on behalf of the Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of Industry and Minister responsible for the Canadian Space Agency will participate in the launch event. Colin Carrie will highlight how Canada's specialised expertise and technology innovation in Radarsat-2 will contribute to efforts to secure Canada's sovereignty and security, and foster sustainable development in the Arctic.

The CSA and MDA will offer an overview of the Radarsat-2 Program, and describe the powerful technical advancements and applications that will enhance Government programs and services, and respond to the needs of scientific and commercial clients both in Canada and abroad.

Longueuil, Quebec - December 11, 2007 (RADARSAT-2, Canada's next-generation
high resolution Earth Observation satellite is scheduled to launch on a
Soyuz rocket from Baikonur, Kazakhstan on Friday December 14, 2007 at 08:17

The Canadian Space Agency is hosting a launch event in Longueuil (Saint-
Hubert) Quebec, beginning at 07:45. Media should arrive by 07:15 to assure
sufficient time to set up.

A live satellite feed of the launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome will be
