Media Advisory/REMINDER: Government of Canada Connecting Canadians with Nature by Contributing to the Trans Canada Trail

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 22, 2010) - The Honourable Jim Prentice, Minister of the Environment and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, will be announcing an important financial contribution that will help complete the Trans Canada Trail.

Minister Prentice will be joined by the Chair of the Trans Canada Trail, Valerie Pringle, and Olympic Medallist Simon Whitfield.

When completed, this cross-Canada recreational trail will stretch 22,500 km from coast to coast to coast linking 1,000 communities and 34 million Canadians.
