Media Advisory/REMINDER: Ken Georgetti to Speak at Labour Day Picnic in Halifax

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 4, 2011) - Ken Georgetti, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, will speak to workers and their families at a Labour Day event in Halifax on Monday, September 5th. The picnic and rally is sponsored by the Halifax-Dartmouth and District Labour Council (http://HalifaxLabour.ca) and the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour (http://nsfl.ns.ca). Georgetti will be available for comments to the media.

Canadian workers have celebrated their achievements each year on Labour Day since it was declared a national holiday in 1894. This year the focus is on demanding the changes – in salaries, working conditions and pensions – that are needed to improve the lives of our children and grandchildren.
