Media Advisory-REMINDER: Minister for International Cooperation to Visit Tanzania

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 23, 2007) - The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister for International Cooperation, will visit Tanzania from November 22 to 26, 2007. Minister Oda will meet with Tanzanian government officials, non-governmental organization representatives and visit local projects funded by the Canadian International Development Agency.

Projects to be visited by the Minister include two primary schools and a women's micro-credit organization in Dar es Salaam, as well as the Marie Stopes Outreach Clinic in Mikumi Town.

Minister Oda will join Prime Minister Stephen Harper for a meeting with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete in Dar es Salaam on November 26, 2007.

Canada and Tanzania's long-standing relationship has matured over the years and includes a focus on development cooperation, trade and investment activities.
